About me

I’m Mike, an experienced guitarist/singer based in Essex. I've been playing guitar for the last 30+ years in various bands and solo work.

My set includes well-known covers spanning from the 1960s up to more modern crowd-pleasers. Due to my wide range of influences, I tend to cover many genres (pop, folk, Irish, Scottish, country, soul, reggae and others) – from laid-back crowd pleasers to pub singalongs and music that people dance to. It's quite common at most gigs to have someone comment "I wasn't expecting that!" and "We had no idea what to expect next!". This is why I enjoy  my solo work in particular.

I tailor my setlist to suit the room — whether it's upbeat energy or more relaxed background music. I also play at a volume that is sensible to the environment. 99% of my set is just myself and a guitar with just a few backing tracks if the song needs it.

I've been fortunate to play in many venues over the years where both the crowd and venue owner response have been brilliant. 

My set list comprises of hundreds of songs and I usually do anywhere up to 3 hours with a couple of short breaks. 

I provide my own equipment, can adapt to any environment, am friendly and easy to work with — professional, punctual, and respectful of staff and audience alike.
